Evenflo Models 012/014 Jenny Lind Crib
A recall of baby cribs was issued on June 24, 2010 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This was the second recall on baby furniture cribs in just 7 short months. The current recall involves over 2 million cribs made by 7 different companies. Specifically, the recall targets cribs with drop down and movable sides. The sides may become unattached from the crib, due to hardware failure or incorrect assembly. This allows for the possibility of the baby’s head becoming lodged or trapped in the open gap, which could result in strangulation or suffocation of the child.
The cribs effected by the recall are made by Evenflo, Delta Cribs, LaJobi, Million Dollar Baby, Jardine Enterprises, Simmons Juvenile Products, and Childcraft. Although Childcraft has gone out of business, if you believe you own one of the malfunctioning baby cribs, the CPSC has recommended that you contact the company that made your crib. Some of the companies are also offering repair kits for the malfunctioning hardware.
