Microprocessor manufacturer Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) shares rose 1.16% to $18.39, +.21 at noon on Friday, despite the fact that Intel lowered its revenue forcast earlier in the day. In a new announcement made by Intel, the company lowered its third-quarter guidance to $11 billion, plus or minus $200 million, compared with the previous expectation of $11.2 billion to $12 billion.
Competing microprocessor manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) shares are up .34% to $5.89, +0.02 after taking a nose dive to $5.74 earlier in the day. AMD stock opened at $5.87 on Friday.
Data storage company 3PAR (NYSE:PAR) shares have gone wild since the bidding war between Dell and Hewlett-Packard began. At noon on Friday, 3PAR shares screamed to $32.46, +6.43 up 24.70%. This follows an acceptance of Dell’s offer to acquire 3PAR for $27 per share, which was closely followed by a bid by Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) for $30 per share.
Computer manufacturer Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) shares have risen to $12.06, +0.31, up 2.62% since 3PAR announced they had accepted Dell’s offer at $27 per share.
Competing computer manufacturer Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) shares have fallen 1.33% to $37.7, down .50 cents since increasing their offer from $27 to $30 per share for 3PAR (NYSE:PAR).
