Costco Sales $29.78 Billion for 18 Week Period
Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ:COST) reported net sales of $9.19 billion for the month of December, 2010, an increase of 11% for the five weeks ended January 2, 2011. Net sales were $8.26 billion for the same period last year. The increase includes sales from Costco’s Mexico joint venture. Without Mexico sales, Costco would have seen an 8% increase in sales.
Costco reported net sales of $29.78 billion, an increase of 11% from $26.83 billion during the same period last year, for the eighteen weeks of its reporting period ended January 2, 2011. The increase would have been 8% if Mexico sales were excluded.
Costco (NASDAQ:COST) currently operates 582 warehouses: 425 in the U.S. and P.R., 80 in Canada, 32 in Mexico, 22 in the U.K., 9 in Japan, 7 in Korea, 6 in Taiwan and 1 in Australia, as well as Costco Online.
