Amazon.com Taking Orders For Lower Priced Kindle (AMZN)

Kindle with Special Offers Sells For $114

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is now accepting pre-orders for its newly announced Kindle with Special Offers from US customers. Amazon’s newest Kindle offering, Kindle with Special Offers, sells at an attractive price of $114. It is the same as the bestselling $139 Wi-Fi Kindle, but Amazon’s Kindle with Special Offers will include special offers and display sponsored screensavers and offers on the bottom of the home screen.

Amazon.com’s latest generation Kindle became Amazon’s best selling product ever in just five short months. Amazon lowered the price of its Wi-Fi Kindle version to $139 and dropped price of the Kindle 3G to $189 last year. The result was a surge in Kindle sales.

The first series of screensavers will be sponsored by General Motors Company’s (NYSE:GM) Buick, The Procter & Gamble Company’s (NYSE:PG) Olay, Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), and the Amazon.com Reward Visa Card by JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM). The screensavers will be designed especially for the Kindle’s electronic ink display and include attractive special offers Amazon feels will be of interest to Kindle users.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) plans to ship the first series of Kindle with Special Offers on May 3, 2011.
