General Motors Initiates New Insurance Pilot Program

General Motors Initiates New Insurance Pilot ProgramThe General Motors Company is offering a new feature in select states, automotive insurance.  The new program is for new car and truck buyers within Oregon and Washington (state).  GM has teamed up with MetLife to provide the automotive insurance for a year.

General Motors Marketing’s V.P. said in a company document, “We want to give residents of Oregon and Washington another reason to discover Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles,” he further noted that We have new products like the Chevrolet Cruze, Buick Regal, GMC Terrain and Cadillac CTS Coupe that are now even more appealing with a year’s worth of insurance.”

To top it off, a representative of MetLife which is working with General Motors to bring about this pilot program in the two select states said that the coverage will exceed minimum requirements necessary.

The president of MetLife, Bill Moore, said “This offer enhances the vehicle’s value proposition because our policy is considered one of the most comprehensive in the industry,” he also mentioned an extra policy feature should an automotive be damaged, “Our new car replacement feature is a benefit not found in most auto policies.”

The automotive insurance policy is enabled for the duration of the first year beyond purchase, or 15,000 miles driven by a driver legally entitled to operating the automobile.  Cars or trucks within this policy will be repaired accordingly, or if damage is too severe, replaced with a brand new one.  Fleet-owned automobiles, however, are exempted from the policy.

Should sales take off as the result of this new pilot program, General Motors will consider offering this deal to residents of other states outside of Oregon and Washington.
