The University of Maryland football team is going to be losing the services of one young man heading into fall camp later this year, Justin Lewis. Lewis, who started for all but one game during the 2010 season, has been ejected from the team.
Maryland’s head coach of the football program, Randy Edsall, said in a University sanctioned document yesterday, “As with any organization there are policies which must be adhered to by all individuals and when they’re not, there are consequences for an individual’s actions.”
Lewis played at the right guard position of the offensive line.
Edsall spent the 2010 season being the head coach of the University of Connecticut Huskies football program but bolted for Maryland when opportunity opened up.
According to Jeff Barker over at The Baltimore Sun, Lewis punched a bar manager by the name of Alain Parcan for looking at his girlfriend. This is something that Parcan denies (looking at the girl), and points out that other teammates can vet that his girlfriend was not even within the establishment at the time of the incident.
