Daniel Day-Lewis Is Eyeing Another Oscar for Phantom Thread

The film features a score from Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, who has scored many of Anderson's films in the past, including There Will Be Blood (PTA and DDL's last pairing), The Master, and Inherent Vice. We'll have our thoughts up soon, but we wanted to bring you the trailer as soon as possible. He's a director that's openly rebelling against traditional narrative cohesion at this point, and instead going for tone and theme above all else, which makes for pictures that equally captivating and frustrating.

Seeing Punch-Drunk Love on opening day in a packed Los Angeles theater left me speechless, and then absorbing There Will Be Blood at Fantastic Fest from a seat that was far too close to the screen near popped every blood vein in my head.

The film will open in selected USA cinemas on December 25th, and at United Kingdom cinemas on February 2nd, 2018.

Set in the glamour of 1950s post-war London, Phantom Thread follows a renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville), who are at the centre of the British fashion industry, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutants and dames.

The film revolves around a relationship between Woodcock and a strong-willed young woman named Alma, who throws his life into disarray when they the begin a romantic relationship. Everything could fall apart when the unpredictable nature of love throws off his carefully tailored life.

The official trailer for "Phantom Thread", possibly the final role of Daniel Day-Lewis' acting career, debuted Monday.
