Kochhar said ICICI Bank retains its earlier guidance that additions to non-performing assets (NPAs) this fiscal year will be lower than previous year's.
The private sector bank is still waiting for the final report of the central bank's annual supervision exercise, Chief Executive Chanda Kochhar told reporters on a conference call, adding they will disclose the findings of this audit in the third quarter.
The bank's total capital adequacy ratio (CAR) was at 17.89 percent and Tier-I vehicle was at 14.85 per cent as on September 30, 2017. Fee income increased 9% on a year-on-year basis to ₹2,570 crore.
Net interest income (interest earned less interest expended) was up 39 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) at ₹420 crore. A Bloomberg analysts' survey forecast a net profit of Rs 2,570 crore. Kochhar said they included Rs 651 crore in provisions towards dud assets mandated to be resolved under the insolvency laws.
Loans grew nearly 35 percent in the September quarter, Yes Bank said, at a much faster pace that the system loan growth of just about 7 percent.
Gross bad loans as a percentage of total loans jumped to 1.82 percent at end-September from 0.97 percent a quarter earlier and 0.83 percent in the year-ago period.
