Instead, Bibi's mother-in-law unwittingly used the poisoned milk to make lassi, a traditional yoghurt drink, for her extended family. According to UPI, the alleged lover is a cousin whom Bibi had hoped to marry. 15 people died in hospital because of the severe intoxication while other 12 remain in a critical condition.

The newly married poured poison into her husband's milk. Unfortunately, Amjad's mother used the poisoned milk to make lassi for the family. Since the drink was served on 27th October, the death toll has risen. 17 died and 10 were receiving medical attention. Shortly after their wedding, police said she attempted to escape to her parents' house. One man and his aunt were arrested on charges of complicity.
