Penn State And Michigan State Got Stuck In A Never-Ending Weather Delay

The 7th -ranked Penn State Nittany Lions are on the road again this week against another unsafe Big Ten East opponent.

Michigan State has two huge victories on the season with wins over Michigan and Penn State now. They travel to Columbus next weekend for a game against Ohio State, the victor of which will slip into the driver's seat of the Big Ten East race as the championship game in Indianapolis grows larger on the horizon.

The Michigan State Spartans defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions, 27-24, on Saturday afternoon from East Lansing, giving them their second high-profile win of the season.

In between, Michigan State's Brian Lewerke answered with throwing score of his own to Darrell Stewart. Davis attempted to make a catch at the sideline but tipped the ball with one hand and intercepted by Amani Oruwariye at the Nittany Lions' 24-yard line. The Spartans took over and then mounted the game-winning drive. It might take twice as long as it should, but through rain and stormy skies he's going to deliver.

The game was delayed for an extended period in the middle of the second quarter over weather concerns, before both teams got back on the field to finish the game out.

Earlier, Trace McSorley threw two touchdown passes, the second of which made him the program's all-time career touchdown passes leader with 39. His favorite target was junior Felton Davis III, who exploded for 12 catches for 181 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Lewerke faked two handoffs before setting his feet and firing to the front corner of the end zone at Spartan Stadium. There is no restart time at this juncture, but we'll pass along an update when the game boots back up. Penn State's forecast remains gloomy.
