"I said I would get to the bottom of everything".

Brazile wrote a preview of the book for Politico Thursday in which she accused the Clinton campaign of "rigging the system" for her to beat presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.

The Washington Post, which has obtained a copy of the book, ran more highlights yesterday, including that she had considered replacing Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as nominees with Vice President Joe Biden and running mate Senator Cory Booker at the last minute, after Clinton almost fainted on September 11, 2016.

Asked about Brazile's allegations by CNN's Jake Tapper, Warren - seen as a possible Democratic candidate in 2020 - called the agreement between the Clinton campaign and the DNC "a real problem" and said the party must be held "accountable". "I supported Hillary and I wanted her to win, but we were under pressure".

"Those telling me to shut up ..."

The comments come after Brazile, in an excerpt from her upcoming book, detailed an agreement between Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonBlumenthal: Trump-tied data firm reaching out to WikiLeaks "significant" Tillerson eliminates key State Department sanctions office: report Intel Dem: What's in dossier more important than who paid for it MORE's presidential campaign, the DNC and Clinton's joint fundraising committee that said the campaign would "control the party's finances, strategy, and all the money raised".

Brazile wrote she was stunned to find out about the agreement and said it was a "cancer" on the party.

While Brazile's forthcoming book, "Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns that Put Donald Trump in the White House", has been condemned by the Clinton campaign, she maintains that her decisions and role had "nothing to do with the Hillary campaign".

Brazile also took shots at how the Clinton campaign was run, calling it stiff and some of its messaging "stupid".

The Clinton staffers responded they were "shocked to learn" that Brazile would consider overturning the will of Democratic voters.

Tom Perez, the new DNC chairman, on Sunday, after The Post review of Brazile's book, rushed to assure Democrats that he would clean up the group's mess ahead of the next presidential election cycle.

"I don't know what Donna Brazile fell for", Perez said.

To be sure, the scathing criticism of one long-standing Democrat on other members of her own party comes at a bad time - days away from the Virginia gubernatorial race featuring Republican Ed Gillespie against Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam.

Perez spoke on NBC's "Meet the Press", Brazile appeared on ABC's "This Week," and Pelosi was on CNN's "State of the Union".

Over the weekend, Perez issued a statement saying he and the DNC leadership were committed to ensuring that the nomination process in 2020 will be "unquestionably fair and transparent". What's more, the Sanders team posits that the joint fundraising agreement they signed with the party was never acted on.

"A real executive would say, 'This was a awful thing that went on, we are cleaning it up, '" Weaver said.
