England play Germany at Wembley on 10 November and face another home game against Brazil on 14 November.

Wilshere has won 34 caps for England, including in the 2014 World Cup, but has not featured for Southgate's side since they were eliminated from the 2016 European Championships.

Gareth Southgate has told Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that Jack Wilshere's best position is as a number 10.

But new West Ham manager David Moyes has been promised funds for January and the club are expected to sign a new midfielder after missing out on William Carvalho last summer.

Southgate sees Wilshere as a deep-lying playmaker but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and Bournemouth's Eddie Howe, who had the 25-year-old on loan last season, have used him in a more advanced role.

He has completed 90 minutes three times in the Europa League and twice in the Carabao Cup, however, with one appearance in the latter competition stretching into extra time. "That is not the way we are playing". When we have played with a 10, we have had Dele [Alli] and [Adam] Lallana.

"I really like Jack Wilshere as a player", he said.

"I don't think Jack is a 10". I think he is a talent and I really respect him as an individual. "And I'm hoping that we are in a position in March where we can pick him".

"I'd like [Wilshere] to play even more, to be in the starting XI more often and get back into that England team", Adams told the London Evening Standard at this week's premiere for the documentary film "89", which tells the dramatic story of that year's title win. With Hodgson's successor, Gareth Southgate, stating that he can't consider Wilshere because of his lack of game time, such a move would make sense.
