The bullet- ridden body of 23-year old soldier was found in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on Saturday.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Irfan Dar, a resident of Sanzan village, confirmed SSP Shopian Ambarkar Shriram to India Today.
The body of the official was recovered from an orchard area in Watmullah Keegam area of Shopian, a police official said. He was on vacation and had gone missing since yesterday. "While on leave, he was possibly abducted and killed by terrorists", the defence spokesman said, adding that the matter was being investigated by the police.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and her predecessor Omar Abdullah condemned the latest killing. Police said after the body is recovered they will register a case and start the investigations.
