As insane as it sounds, Kane Fitzgerald made history on Tuesday night for being the first National Basketball Association referee to ever eject Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James from a game. After Fitzgerald gave him his first technical, James did not turn around and continued arguing, which led to the ejection. He has fouled out just eight times in the regular season and averages just 1.9 fouls for his career.
Cavaliers had a 38 point performance from Kevin Love and 21 points and 12 rebounds from Lebron James. The Cavs barely needed to break a sweat late, thanks to a season-high 75 points in the first two quarters that overwhelmed the Heat and sent Cleveland on the way to a 108-97 win that was, for all intents and purposes, over before halftime.
Ben Simmons is an early favorite to win Rookie of the Year
In Tuesday's other matches, the Washington Wizards beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 92-89 and and the Phoenix Suns scored a 104-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Although Irving's comments may have indicated that he, like everyone else, thought James' ejection was questionable, it does not seem as if he wanted to stir the pot more than it already has been. "I showed my frustration to the ref and he sent me to the locker room". "We got the win, and that's what's most important". "That particular play, I got fouled all the way up the court".
