NFL: 2 suspensions for dirty hits in Bengals-Steelers game

JuJu Smith-Schuster and George Iloka have been handed one-game suspensions following Monday's bruising encounter between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Smith-Schuster appealed his suspension, but it was upheld.

JuJu Smith-Schuster's blindside helmet-to-helmet block on Vontaze Burfict started off as a dirty and finable offense.

The NFL suspended Smith-Schuster later on Tuesday and in his letter to the wide receiver, NFL VP of Football Operations Jon Runyan specifically cited Smith-Schuster's decision to taunt Burfict. Brown, who caught the game-tying pass on the play, remained in the game.

A suspension is the only response the league can rightfully give to what Smith-Schuster did. "We already play a high-injury sport", said, via NFL.com.

UPDATE: Smith-Schuster's suspension is now official. But according to Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, that block wasn't even the worst part of the play.

"I was just playing to the whistle", Smith-Schuster said.

Iloka's agent, Ron Slavin, released a statement saying thank you to Brooks but reiterated that they felt Iloka did nothing wrong. The unsportsmanlike conduct is not me. Love you 50, Get better soon!

Meanwhile, Antonio Brown, the star of the show, is still working through a sprained toe that had him questionable for Monday's game.

"I like that. I like that", said Brown of the block.
