The Nano IPS technology which is now seen only on LG TVs, will make its debut on widescreen monitors in 2018. LG says it "involves the application of nanometer-sized particles to the screen's LED to absorb excess light wavelengths". Indeed, LG claims that these monitors are capable of displaying 98% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, so they are pro-level displays in respect of delivering lifelike colors. Well, sort of 5K-that resolution is technically 5,120 x 2,160, meaning it has the same number of vertical pixels as a 4K monitor but adds pixels horizontally.
Joining that new monster display will be a more typical entry in the range, a new 32-inch 4K monitor known as the 32UK950. The monitor is compatible with the Thunderbolt 3 port, and can be used without a separate power supply.
LG says that both panels will also support "HDR 600", but it's not clear if the company is referring to VESA's DisplayHDR 600 spec or its own thing. It too comes with its own Thunderbolt 3 port, which will actually let you hook up a second 4K monitor to it if you wanted to daisy chain rather than plugging them directly into your graphics card. It boasts LG's signature Edge-ArcLine Stand and a 4-Side Edge Borderless Design for a better overall viewing experience. This one is a QHD display, also using a Nano IPS technology panel but with NVIDIA G-Sync technology support.
Tim Alessi, head of product marketing at LG Electronics USA said, "Most of us spend hundreds of hours in front of monitors every month, yet it's one of the least likely products to get upgraded when higher productivity is desired".

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will be held from 9-12 January next year and we are already starting to hear news about the probable launches.
LG has recently announced two new monitors which are being prepped for CES 2018, the 32UK950 and the ultra wide 34WK95U, both with HDR support and a new technology to which LG is calling, Nano IPS.
LG hasn't revealed either availability or price, but don't expect it to be cheap.
