LG has just made another announcement for a product that will be debuting at CES next week in Las Vegas.

LG Electronics Inc. said Friday it will unveil its Ultra HD (UHD) beam projector, which boasts the industry's most advanced screen quality, at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicking off in the United States next week. LG claims the new UHD projector is roughly half the size of competing 4K options on the market, many of which are "heavy, expensive, and hard to install" according to the company.

LG doesn't go into specifics about how compact the HU80KA is, only to say it as portable and about half the size of its competitors.

While other 4K projectors are short and squat, the HU80KA is a much taller tower that appears to be created to sit directly on the floor rather than on a table or stand. It can also project up to a 150-inch display, at 2,500 lumens. With integrated support for HDR 10, the device is also designed for the ultimate viewing experience that users can expect out of a projector.

So far, LG hasn't revealed further specifications and price of the projector. There are two 7-watt speakers built into the projector which would be fine for casual watching but if you want the immersion, it is recommended that you hook the projector up to an external speaker system via optical, HDMI or Bluetooth.

Part of what makes the HU80K so small and portable is that LG's engineers were able to usa mirrorless l-shaped engine that allows the device to throw a sharp and clear image no matter if it's on the floor, mounted on the wall, or hanging from the ceiling. However, they are also supposed to provide the best resolution, picture clarity and ability to project large images on to any wall. The LG HU80KA will arrive pre-installed with LG's own webOS 3.5.

As yet there are no details on how much this new LG 4K UHD Projector will retail for, we will have more details at CES 2018 next week.
