Toyota to debut Apple CarPlay integration with 2019 Avalon

Naturally, the new generation Avalon switches to the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, and also builds upon its dimensions - 2.0 inches longer wheelbase, plus 0.7 inch to overall length, width has increased by 0.8 inch and height has been brought down by an inch. It should be noted that Apple CarPlay will be standard across all 2019 Avalon models. For example, the interior now has available Yamaha-sourced wood trim and aluminum accents, not to mention more and more of the soft-touch materials that help separate a premium vehicle from an ordinary one.

The 2019 Avalon's redesign means it gets brand-new exterior styling, and it seems to be a change for the better.

Along the side, there's a strong character line that dips towards the rear, while the lower rocker panels have also been carved out, achieved using new stamping methods.

Likewise, Toyota confirmed to MacRumors that CarPlay will not be found on Toyota and Lexus models that were manufactured and delivered before 2019. Toyota claims class-leading head-, leg- and shoulder room for rear passengers.

It has a new infotainment system known as Entune 3.0, and offers the usual must-have features such as Apple CarPlay (no AndroidAuto, though), wireless charging, in-built wifi hotspot, and a very well-equipped 1200-watt JBL stereo.

The new model also includes Amazon Alexa compatibility using Toyota Remote Connect through which users can lock or unlock their doors and start their auto through Alexa or a smartwatch.
