A security incident is causing significant delays at Brisbane Airport's worldwide terminal.
"We're working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and thank you for your patience".
"The safety and security of our passengers is our number one priority and we are pleased to say that all systems are operating as normal".
"We're advising passengers and visitors to avoid T1 and T2 until further notice".
The incident resulted in the entire departure lounge at the global terminal at one point being cordoned off, with security searching through plant boxes, bins and under furniture. We picked that up before we opened the terminal this morning.
At this stage no outbound passengers are leaving from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and flights are being held or rescheduled.

The issue impacted both domestic and worldwide terminals, with commuters sharing images of closed off roller doors at the screening checkpoint and some claiming the security cameras were not operational.
"Virgin Australia is holding flights to minimise any disruption to passengers and working to reaccommodate any affected passenger".
Security screening was closed for 30 minutes at the airport as federal police investigated the matter.
In July past year, Jetstar flights faced a string of delays across Australia, following a system outage originating from Sydney Airport.
