The Eagles only attempted three three-pointers in the first quarter, but they regularly blew past the Tigers to get to the rim as Missouri aggressively closed out on Florida Gulf Coast on the perimeter to prevent three-pointers.

Mizzou went without its two starting post players, Cierra Porter and Jordan Frericks, for nearly the entire second quarter because of foul trouble.

The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Missouri Tigers, 66-52, on Friday night in Nashville.

Missouri fans will have to be content with an NCAA tournament berth.

Yes, a 16-seed beat a 1-seed Friday. The Tigers trailed 15-10 after the opening ten minutes.

Who We Like: Missouri has a lot stacked against it. "And we were really missing Jordan Barnett tonight". The Seminoles won the battle on the glass, 42-20 and forced 16 turnovers. The Tigers are not going to win this game if they have the offense that they ended the season with, especially if they shoot 27 percent - and 21 percent from the field - like their last game.

But give them some credit: the Tigers didn't fold.

The second half wasn't almost as simple. The Seminoles' bench scored 40 of the team's 67 points.

Sure enough, Mizzou didn't have enough in the tank to climb the rest of the mountain. They also were able to get the Tigers into foul trouble early as the officials called the game tightly, with 30 fouls on Missouri and 26 on Florida Gulf Coast.

"We're just putting our name on the map to let people know we are not just a soft, mid-major team", Dow said. Porter Jr. had just grabbed a rebound and was stuck in the corner. "We just need to value the ball more", Cunningham said. However, Porter Jr. looked exhausted, too slow for the game, and even unmotivated at times.

Freshman big man Jeremiah Tilmon said the team's poor performance on offense in the first half was facilitated by sluggish defense. Included in that stretch were 10 straight made free throws.

It's hardly fair to view it that way.

Then, Jontay Porter said, "Something happened again". "I don't care about criticism". "I think it's a much better "sum-of-its-parts" team than maybe a year ago".

"I'm feeling fine", Mann said after the game.

In this season alone, Cunningham's making more shots while shooting less, going 176-for-327 from the field.

"Spring break is coming up, so I'll probably relax at the beach a little bit", Porter said.

The expectation is that he'll go.

Missouri: Waiting to see what Porter decides.
