Microsoft released a new build to Fast ring members of the Windows Insider Program. In the most recent quarter, its Azure business grew 98 percent and its cloud-based Office 365 offering by 41 percent. Jason Zander, who is being promoted to executive vice president under Guthrie, will lead the newly combined Azure and Windows platform teams.

Jha also gets Microsoft's business helping corporations manage their mobile devices and software and a unit that develops new ways to interact with computers, like the HoloLens and XBox Kinect. The tool is aimed at two groups: distribution owners (so they can produce a bundle to ship through the Microsoft Store) and developers (so they can create custom distributions and sideload them onto their development systems).

Although this is a new milestone for the company, the operating system's market share is still short of Windows 7, and as usual, it credits the rise to PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox One consoles and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. (Microsoft officials have predicted the company could have two-thirds of its Office users in the cloud by its fiscal 2019.) Now, it's trying to do something similar for Windows with Microsoft 365: Create a bundle of cloud services anchored by Windows 10 that will provide the company with a recurring revenue stream. Panos Panay will serve as the Microsoft's Chief Product Officer, leading first party devices with a focus on enterprise applications and usage. This group will focus on how people interact with various computing devices, using multiple senses, Microsoft said in a memo. Windows, meanwhile, will continue to be led by Joe Belfiore, but with the added responsibility of products like Edge.

AI Perception & Mixed Reality (MR): Alex Kipman will lead this new team, which brings together all our speech, vision, MR and additional perception capabilities into one team. Unsurprisingly, that group will be responsible for building servers and artificial intelligence products for Microsoft's clients. Cloud AI Platform Corporate VP Joseph Sirosh will join this new group, as well. The sources also mentioned that Microsoft is now going through a last check of the code for the update and will be rolled out as Build 17133. Eric and team will take guidance on all AI-related areas from Harry Shum and work very closely with AI+R.
