3 Browns things QB visitors plus a look around the division

The Baltimore Ravens announced on Twitter Wednesday that Griffin and the team had reached a deal on a one-year contract. "Had a real good workout and we were able to come to an agreement late [on Tuesday]", Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said.

The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

The quarterback, 28, will serve as a veteran back-up to starter Joe Flacco following a whole year out of the sport after he was released by the Cleveland Browns in March.

Griffin signed with the Browns in 2016, but was released from Cleveland after one season.

The addition of Griffin doesn't preclude the Ravens from selecting a quarterback in this month's draft.

Griffin was the second overall pick of the Washington Redskins in 2012 after a Heisman Trophy-winning junior season at Baylor. "We're always working to make our roster as good as it can be". While he had an impressive rookie season, injuries limited his productivity the next few years. He enjoyed a sensational rookie season, throwing 20 touchdown passes and only five interceptions, but his career took a decisive downturn after he tore knee ligaments in a playoff loss to Seattle.

He spent 2016 with the Browns, only playing in five games because injuries struck again.

Griffin started seven games in 2014 before Washington handed the starting job over to Cousins on a full-time basis. "I felt like he really wanted to be here, be a Raven".

Griffin had one of the most precipitous falls in National Football League history: In 2012 he won the rookie of the year award, led Washington to the playoffs, and was hailed as the NFL's brightest young star. I believe our players are going to love the fact that he's here.
