CNN reported that the upper residential floors of Trump Tower - including the 50th floor destroyed by fire - are not equipped with sprinklers.
A firefighter works in front of Trump Tower after a fire in New York, April 7, 2018.
"There are four Firefighters with non-life-threatening injuries".
Authorities first responded to the fire in Brassner's apartment at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening where the severity of the blaze required more than 200 firefighters to attend to the scene.
Donald Trump (seen in 2005 showing Trump World Tower) once battled an NYC bill that suggested requiring all residential buildings to install sprinklers. "They pushed in heroically, they were knocking down the fire, they found one occupant of the apartment on the 50th floor", Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said.
Trump Tower opened in 1984. Some smoke reached some of floors above the fire, he said, but it was unclear if it had reached Trump's residence. Commissioner Nigro said on Saturday that there is extra fire protection at Trump Tower when Mr. Trump is there.

Takfiri Militant Begin to Leave Douma in Eastern Ghouta
Rebel fighters had held Ghouta since 2012, and recapturing it will be seen as a victory for Syrian President Bashar Al Assad. The Army of Islam did not agree to leave the town, said Iyad Abdelaziz, a member of Douma's current local council.
Meanwhile, Nigro confirmed that no member of the Trump family was inside the 664-foot tower Saturday.
The building was completed in 1983, several years before sprinkler systems were mandated.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and the investigation is ongoing.
The fire is reported to be on the 50th floor of the high-rise, which contains both apartments and office space.
Almost two decades ago, Trump, then one of the Big Apple's most prominent real estate moguls, lobbied against Mayor Rudy Giuliani-era legislation that considered whether sprinklers should be installed in all residential buildings after two fatal fires in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Smoke reached other parts of the building, according to Nigro.
"The structure sure stood rather well", Nigro stated.
