Apple might be planning to ditch 3D Touch with the upcoming iPhones

New screen tech may mean the end of 3D Touch on one of this year's new iPhones

The smartphone is expected to be featuring "Cover Glass Sensor (CGS)" technology to relocate the touch module from the display to the glass surface.

Alongside the changes as mentioned above, Apple would also add a thin-film sensor to the touch film sensor though the reason behind the same is unknown. This method will also result in a 15% increase in the cost of the touch panel.

Kuo believes that to maintain the cost of the iPhone and obtain parity, Apple will remove 3D Touch on the 6.1-inch iPhone. Hence, the removal of 3D touch in the 6.1-inch display will offset the cost.

Derrius Guice's stunning fall in the draft
Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the team saw the late reports about Guice, but spoke to his agent and felt good about taking him. Despite character concerns, Guice will likely have a chance to be a major contributor in Washington as a rookie.

He's strong and has a solid base for the running game, and he's athletic enough for pulling and strong enough in pass protection. NY switched to the defense in the third round, taking edge-rushing linebacker Lorenzo Carter of Georgia and bullish tackle B.J.

Witten may retire for MNF analyst job
The 49ers dealt Brown and the 143rd overall pick to New England on Friday for the 95th overall pick. Jones said the Cowboys would have no other comment on Witten's future the rest of the weekend.

Maybe the new goal that apple has is the introduction of the iPhones with touch less gesture controls and maybe the CGS and the thin film sensor that is to be present I the new iPhones are surely a step towards that. Furthermore, users are reporting that the 3D Touch functionality is not working properly with the now available iPhone 8. This feature was first introduced in iPhone 6s but it will be gone on at least one 2018 iPhone model. In this case, however, it might not be that Apple's rivals were unable to copy 3D Touch, they simply may have realized that the technology isn't particularly useful. It is this model that has been a hot topic this week as KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo has shared a few details about this iPhone, via Chinese site Feng.

The report also states that all iPhones, including the two OLED models will adopt the CGS process in 2019, which makes sense if Apple wants to make their display glass more reliable and less prone to cracking on impact.

"There are a lot of things that have to fall into place, but 3D Touch overall feels like one of those ideas that only Apple can push into the mainstream - if Samsung or Huawei had delivered a similar feature, it would nearly certainly be a gimmick".
