Redskins select Louisville OL Geron Christian in Round 3

Former LSU running back Derrius Guice was true to his word, showing up in somewhat "casual" attire Thursday for the NFL Draft in Arlington, Texas.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the team saw the late reports about Guice, but spoke to his agent and felt good about taking him.

Guice made headlines last month in an interview with SiriusXM when he said that in interviews with certain teams at the National Football League scouting combine, they asked inappropriate questions about his sexuality and his mother's professional life.

On Saturday, Guice shot down the report and said there was no issue with Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley, per "My trip to the Eagles was great".

"It was pretty insane", Guice said.

Seen as a sure-fire first-round pick leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, the past several weeks have been filled with rumor and innuendo surrounding Guice.

The NFL investigated and said this week that it found no evidence any team asked inappropriate questions during interviews at the scouting combine.

Despite character concerns, Guice will likely have a chance to be a major contributor in Washington as a rookie.

The slide finally has ended for running back Derrius Guice.

The Detroit Lions, who needed a running back entering Day 2 of the draft, traded up to take Auburn's Kerryon Johnson in the second round with Guice still on the board.

Unfortunately, he struggled to stay healthy himself as a junior, rushing for 1,251 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 5.3 yards per carry. Let's take a look at three backs they could select throughout these three draft days.
