Package deal: Rudolph, Washington heading to Pittsburgh

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Offensive line depth and receiver remain two of the Buffalo Bills most pressing needs with five picks spread over the final four rounds of the National Football League draft.

The Steelers selected OSU receiver and Biletnikoff Award victor James Washington with the 60th overall pick nearing the end of the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday. However, it appears as though the Steelers have addressed this by trading up in the third round last night to select Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Day 3 of the NFL Draft wraps up Saturday. He led the Cowboys to a 32-9 record as a starter, including 10 victories in games in which OSU trailed during the second half.

Rudolph threw for a nation-leading 4,904 yards while completing 65 percent of his passes and tossing 37 touchdowns last season.

Washington and Rudolph demonstrated a remarkable rapport in college, the former racking up 1,549 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in 2017, and they will hope that continues once Roethlisberger hangs up the cleats.

Not long after, Washington learned he would be joined by a familiar face in Pittsburgh. Rudolph looks to be the potential replacement for veteran QB Ben Roethlisberger who has expressed the possibility of retirement soon.
