Judge rules suspected Golden State Killer must be photographed fully NAKED - including his penis - and submit to additional DNA testing

Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Michael Sweet ruled Thursday that prosecutors can proceed.

Speaking in a feeble, barely audible voice and sitting in a wheelchair, DeAngelo appeared in court last Friday but did not enter a plea to the murder charges he faces in the 1978 deaths of Katie and Brian Maggiore.

DeAngelo was arrested last week and identified by prosecutors as the man responsible for at least a dozen murders and more than 50 rapes across California between 1976 and 1986. "There's no basis to stop the execution of the search warrant". Sampayan, a former homicide detective, said police submit samples every couple of years in hopes that advances in DNA testing will finally yield a profile detectives can use.

The judge ruled in favor of prosecutors, which stemmed from a motion Wednesday by the defense to block a search warrant that prosecutors sought to collect more evidence.

Sacramento Sheriff John McGinness said the request for the photographs may be related to clues issued by law enforcement dating back to the 70s and 80s when authorities were searching for an East Area Rapist suspect.

Joseph James DeAngelo was accompanied by his lawyer, Diane Howard, at his arraignment in Sacramento last week.

Howard argued in a movement that the search warrant must be stopped as a result of it was permitted earlier than DeAngelo was arrested and arraigned final week.

DeAngelo is scheduled to return to court May 14.
