FIFA World Cup: Injured Mohamed Salah Likely to be Out For a Month

But Salah is "confident" that he will be able to make his World Cup debut.

Salah, 25, looked set to miss the global showpiece after suffering an injury in the UEFA Champions League final, but the Egyptian FA have since confirmed he'll recover in time to feature in Russian Federation.

"I have taken the decision to not continue into the next season", said Zidane.

Liverpool icon Steve Nicol claimed Sergio Ramos should not be considered world class in a withering put down just days after Mohamed Salah's injury. "In principle it will be three to four weeks, but we are going to try to reduce those deadlines, that's the big goal".

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is expected to be fit to play for Egypt during the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup campaign, his country's FA have declared.

Egypt's team doctor, however, after communicating with Liverpool's medical staff, and after X-Rays were taken, expressed optimism that Salah would be fit for Russian Federation.

Ex-Real Madrid President’s response when asked if Wenger could replace Zidane
Real Madrid are on the look-out for a new manager after Zinedine Zidane resigned from his post. His latest achievement was the 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League final.

On Sunday, Salah posted a message saying: "It was a very tough night, but I'm a fighter".

"I wanted him as a player and a manager and I wanted him to be next to me forever, but I also know that, when he takes a decision, it's a final decision".

A full three-week absence would likely keep Salah out of action until at least June 17, meaning he would miss Egypt's opening fixture in Group A against Uruguay on June 15.

And Egypt's minister of youth and sport reportedly confirmed Salah would recover in time for the World Cup.

Liverpool went on to lose the game 3-1, earning the Spanish giants their third consecutive Champions League title and their 13 overall.

The forward struck a 95th-minute penalty in the final qualification game to send Egypt to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years.
