UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech during no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha as an "old rhetoric" and Congress President Rahul Gandhi said it was "weak".

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP, Gandhi said that PM Modi ruled out of fear, and that fear had turned into anger now.

The Modi government is expected to have a smooth sailing when it faces the first no-confidence motion in four years in the Lok Sabha.

A total of 325 MPs opposed, while 126 MPs supported the no-trust motion moved by the TDP, a former BJP ally, during the division after a marathon 12-hour debate.

Soon after the government won the no-confidence motion, PM Modi said that the NDA has the confidence of 125 crore people.
