- Demi Lovato has been rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after suffering from an apparent heroin overdose, according to TMZ.

Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ says that Demi was transported from a property in the Hollywood Hills to hospital just before noon on Tuesday.

Simply Complicated, Lovato revealed that the last night she drank alcohol - in March 2012 - she was so hungover the next day that she nearly couldn't sing for a scheduled performance on American Idol.

This past March, the 25-year-old celebrated six years of sobriety, sharing the news on Instagram and Twitter, but a few months later she released the piano ballad "Sorry", which alluded to her relapse in its heartbreaking lyrics.

In her June song "Sober", she sings "Momma, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore".

"We should all wrap our arms of love around Demi Lovato", tweeted Gaga.

In the 2017 YouTube documentary, "Simply Complicated", she talked about the daily challenges of recovery.

She even gave interviews about her new sober lifestyle while high on drugs she said, while cycling through sober companions.

Lady Gaga wrote an equally touching message, reminding the star how much she is loved.

Demi is now mid-way through her world tour and was next due to perform on Thursday in Atlantic City, but the performance has been cancelled. "Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family", the statement read.
